Tax Credit Overpayment ....

I had a letter saying I have been overpaid for £156 I have rung them and set up debit to pay it off over the next twelve months.

As I am currently on a low income [now] I tried to cut down on all my bills, now going to be £13 a month worse off.

I know there is very little I can do more likely it was my fault, at the time I did ring them to inform of change of circumstance but failed password identity check.

  • Sorry what's your question?

  • If the overpayment is causing you hardship call the helpline to see if it can be reduced further or stopped until your financial situation changes. If you want to know if you can claim you aren't responsible because you failed the security questions therefore couldn't update your details, not a hope.
