Seat Belt Warning Lights

1. I hate wearing a seatbelt, I find it very restrictive and uncomfortable so I don't do it.
2. I firmly believe that the law is wrong. I fully support laws that are designed to prevent harm or loss coming to others. However, my not wearing a seatbelt will not cause harm to anyone else - only me. I thoroughly resent this intrusion inot my personal liberty.
I wouldn't buy a motor that had one of these lights/buzzers (unless it could be switched off).
You are wrong. If you have an accident and are not wearing a seat belt you will be more seriously injured and the taxpayer will pick up the tab. That's not to mention the harm done to your loved ones in their worry and possibly grief at your death.
Princess Diana would be alive today, in all probability, if she had had the sense to wear a seatbelt.0 -

I do fully agree that it should be down to the individual to decide whether to wear a seat belt/crash helmet/whatever - however the individual also needs to be prepared to foot the bill if they decide to ignore the advice given and then it subsequently goes wrong for them.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

You will enjoy the police stopping you for not wearing one and then fining you.
If you have a medical condition or a taxi driver then fair enough if you don't want to wear one. As you haven't and the law was put in place to prevent you dying and prevent trauma to the emergency services and passers-by seeing your splattered body then you are required to wear one.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Just like the individual who goes rock climbing or tramping over the hills despite advice that conditions mean it isn't a good idea? Hmmm - they pay don't they?0

Plug the seat belt in and then get in yourself - sit on the belt.
Or put it on properly.
That's what my Dad used to do in the late 1970's on his Volvo 264GLE.Then when I was tired he'd tell me to sleep on the parcel shelf. And if I was sitting on the front seat and he needed to brake hard, he'd hold out his arm to stop me sliding forward.:D

I've been fined twice over the years for not wearing one - I treat this as just an extra tax on me for exercising free will.
I 100% object to the law 'nannying' me. As an adult (however irresponsible you may think I am), I have the moral right to put myself in harms way just as much as i wish.0 -

It's just a shame for the poor folk who might have to scrape your shattered face and brain off the windscreen if some twerp rear-ends you....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

As it happens, with my present motor (L200 with tinted rears and a load cover) it's impossible to see if I'm wearing a belt from the rear - so I only need to worry about roadside checks and I'm canny enough these days to slip it on should I spot one of these.0 -
