Capital one - full & final settlement advice please

Please can any you advise me on the following:
I owe £6547.07 to capital one and am on a payment plan of £100.00 interest free which was agreed by them.
2 months ago I wrote to them offering a F & F of £3500.00 and they declined, my plan is now up for review and they said that they may be able to offer me a settlement on the letter.
So I called them today and they said that if I paid £4500.00 this would show as a partial settlement on my file with the remaining balance showing as unpaid.
Is there anyway this can not be show on my credit file?
Or should I just keep paying the agreed amount of £100 but could I then be sent to external debt collectors in the future?
Not sure what to do here?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you're able to pay the full amount then it is their right to note on your file that you've only made a partial settlement but the account will show as closed.
It is a good deal if you can afford to pay the £4500 as they may not want to renew your payment plan of £100 a month and start charging high interest again in the future....0 -

Hi Mrs Ryan
Could use your advice. i have £1100 of initial £4500 left to pay, being paying at £100 per month. Problem is redundancy looms so offered £400 full final settlement but refused, only making token payments until get new job. Would like to clear this before the cash runs dry.
