I'm unsure of this John. Think it says annual service/inspection.

I would describe it as an inspection more than a service..you have the oportunity to discuss any niggles you have over the boiler and have found that useful. With our make being Vaillant (around 10+ years old) the repairs can be very difficult/awkward and costly. Have had parts replaced twice in 6 years costing.... cannot remember but did gasp a lot at the time....They have always come out very quickly on call outs and part replacements where ordered and replaced within days but to add our boiler was still up and running but had intermittant faults both times...so unsure if parts could be replaced any quicker if you had no boiler working at all.
Previous house we had a very reliable local plumber and always used him for yearly service and breakdowns with our Servowarm Boiler...he worked for them previously for many many years and knew the boiler inside out. He was very reasonable with his charges so for that I would say it worked out cheaper with him than BG, but since moving away the best bet has been with BG for now.
