when you say sole carer, is your child disabled or ill?0 -
no i mean im the one that looks after her...0

No you are not entitled to income based benefits due to your DH's income, you could claim WTC, CTC, CB and possibly LHA/CTB.
If you have enough NI conts for 07-08 and 08-09 you could possibly claim CBJSA, but you would need to look for a job.0 -
Income support is for lone parents/disabled people. JSA is for people looking for a job. Neither of these apply to you0

thanks for all your help...thats what I thought...but a few people have told me that they know people that are getting both JS and IS that are in the same situation...I said I dont know how...because as far as I was aware we were not entitled to anything other than HB and CTB...0

Those people are probably single parents. You can't claim JSA & IS at the same time.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I dont mean they are claiming it together I meanb I know peope that are getting JSA and other people getting Income Support that are not single parents...they are women who tay at home looking after kids whilst fella is at work...earning money for the family yet they are still claiming...i dont understand it...i suppose they probably lying about being together or something...it seems so many people get away with benefit fraud and when youre honest you dont get any help when you actually need it!!!0

Well at least you won't have to look over your shoulder all the time, worrying if someone will grass you up.
