non-delivery of bouquet of flowers

help I need some advice. Today is my mum's 65th birthday and also the day she retires. To mark this milestone I arranged a £25 bouquet of flowers to be delivered by a recommended local florist in the town where she lives.
Hadn't heard anything from my mum to say thanks which is a bit strange so I rang the florist and asked if they'd delivered. They said yes and they've left them in her porch!!!! Then rang my mum to ask if she'd got them and she said no.
Haven't been able to get hold of the florists to complain but what are my rights. They delivered them but they were left insecurely and some scumbag has stolen them. I am planning on demanding a new bouquet but that's not the point, the surprise on a special day has been ruined.

Whilst I cant condone the florists for just leaving the flowers in the porch I assume you were aware your mum would be at work on her last day. Did you give special instructions for delivery, times she would be in etc ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Its not up to you to prove they weren't delivered, its up to the florist to prove they were.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Speaking as a florists son, the florist have to prove they were delivered. Dont go in demanding as it will get their backs up if they are a local florist and not affiliated to companies such as interflora or teleflorist, then they rely on local business therefore will be keener to sort things out possibly with replacements and an apology.
However the affiliated florists can afford to lose your custom, but then have to deal with the complaint that you should raise (if unsatisfied) with teleflorist/interflora etc.
Hope this manages to sort things out for you, did they leave a card through the letter box saying we have tried to deliver your flowers....
As even if my mom left the flowers in the porch she would put a card through the door just to let them know that flowers had been left there as there was a series of thefts going on, with some people understandably complaining, and others just trying to scam (not suggesting you are by the way).
She had one person come into the shop effing and blinding about the flowers that hadnt been delivered. When my mom started going through the orders/deliveries book found out this person hadnt had any flowers ordered and her husband had lied to her. The look on her face was priceless. But that was the reason cards went through the door from then on, even if they were left in plain sight.0
