Options
As the title says I am going to a fancy dress party at Halloween - its an open fancy dress theme - not restricted to Haloween. Any ideas for a really good costume. Comfort a must!

  • easy peasy, attach some knickers to your tee shirt and go as a chest of drawers!!!
  • i always do black cat, just wear black clothes (personally i always do sexy black cat so strappy top, short skirt, black tights and FMB's) then just pin a black feather boa (or black tights stuffed with rags) to yr bum for a tail, get a cheap hairband and cut some ears out of cardboard/felt and attach them to it, and draw on some whiskers with black eyeliner :)
    never fails for me...:D

    Any other ideas??
  • i do fancy dress a LOT - here's some ideas i've done/seen . . . .

doctor who - brown pinstripe suit, shirt and tie, trainers, brown trenchcoat and a sonic screwdriver from toys r us. v comfy too!

james bond - white dinner jacket, bow tie and a diving mask and snorkel. Flippers optional

MASH - tin helmet combat trousers and a khaki tshirt, boots. If you're wantig to be dramatic, use papier mache and red paint to create a chest wound!

star trek - tight red sweater, short black skirt, knee high boots and black tights

corpse bride - old wedding type dress from a charity shop, white face paint and eyeliner

ghostbusters - boilers suit and a super soaker water pistol

and two of my favourites - the lawnmower man. Get an old lawnmower, remove the handle and strap it to your back! Or for those of a decided sci fi nerdy slant, i recently saw a cracker - tennis whites and a tennis racket, some sort of metallic paint on your face and hey presto! The bjorn borg collective . . . .

Hope these help Honey . . . . . I get most of my fancy dress stuff from charity shops you sometimes need to dig but it's worth it., especially if like me fancy dress venues are usually muddy fields. I've found that if you don't want to be trying to be sexy or wear skimpy stuff, dress up as a man - you could probably pick up a jack sparrow accessory kit in the disney store!

Always remember this outfit someone wore at a work party a long time ago.

Wear black trousers, black top, wear a blue bra over the top and stick a twig/branch down the middle in between your boobs and wear a sign on your back 'TWO BLUE TITS ON A BRANCH'

Hmm probably not such a good idea if there are kids there though??
