Tempur/Memory Foam Pillow, What shape to get?

I am looking to get a tempur pillow as my goose feather one which cost £55 a few years back(soft as it is) is giving me neck pain. There are about 5 different tempur pillows; which one have you got which is giving a good night's sleep?
I thought about going into a shop to try out, but I think with pillows it will need a few days/ a week to find what is suitable.
I have found an ebay member named uk-mobility as the cheapest. Anywhere else have good prices. Thanks in advance.

The OH and I both have the traditional shaped pillow and are happy with it.
It's a matter of personal taste , but I tried an original shape pillow (although not a Tempur , a cheaper make) and couldn't get comfortable with it at all.Same old same old since 20080 -
I agree, it is all a matter of preference. OH has the standard normal pillow whilst i have the smaller moulded one. Pillows do take a bit of time to get used to them but when trying in a shop you will know if a style is definately not for you.
here's wishing you a good nights sleep!!DiddyD

I've got a copy of the original-shaped pillow; I had neck-ache for a week while I was getting used to it but wouldn't swop back now. It's wonderful for sleeping on my side but a bit more difficult to sleep on my front. The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

Thanks for all responds. My currently pillow is actually made from 100% white goose downs, as soft as pillows can get, but it has given me bad neckache for some time and I cannot stand it any longer.
I had an original shape memory foam pillow from aldi for a cheap £10 and find that no good, too firm. Yeah its difficult with pillow shapes, im going to get a traditional shape next week and take it from there, there is a new duluxe version out and cost more but not sure whether its worth the extra money.0 -
I used to sleep on two feather pillows, I have done so for years. I always felt I needed two. However, recently I have been suffering from terrible neck stiffness and headaches and decided to try a memory foam pillow. My husband has been using the moulded shaped one for a few years and loves his. I can't afford a Tempur so I got a ThermoFit one from Costco on Wednesday for £24.99. Wednesday night was not good, I tossed and turned all night and it didn't feel right at all, Thursday I had a vile headache and stiff neck. However, I persevered with it last night, and hey presto, this morning woke up feeling really good with no neck pain or headache. It's still early days but I am feeling quite optimistic about this new pillow. It also has a nice removable and washable velour cover with a zip on the underside and seems to be very good quality.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I bought one last year from a v posh back shop mear me because I have a friend who likes in Norfolk who swears by hers. I slept 2 nights on it and thought I'd have to stay in bed both days as my neck so bad (I have problems with it and also have an expensive goose pillow which has stopped helping). I took the pillow back and tho they were snooty and rude they took it back - well it was about £75 and I thought the shop probably wouldn't want me teling the story locally. My mate in Norfolk was allowed to try different types of pillow 'on appro' before she bought, and if I could have done that I might have found one which was good, but I'm very wary now, as it didn't seem at all obvious to me in the shop which was going to be good. Perhaps yo could see if there's somewhere that sells them which would lend you one/several to try on a trial basis ?0
