Question regarding LloydsTSB

Hi all,

Got a quick LloydsTSB question that I have had trouble getting a clear answer to, either on teh phone to Lloyds peeps, or via regular googling and I know that with the knowledge gathered on this forum someone may have the answer!

I have been starting to keep a close eye on my bank outgoings (amazing I didn't do this before, I know, at least I am finally learning the error of my ways) and I am seeing a regular monthly outgoing of £42.90 to LTSBI100103090403. Anybody know what this is? Has anybody else with Lloyds had a monthly LTSBI deduction? I spoke to one of their guys on the phone and they said it was insurance but couldn't add anymore details than that, I certainly don't recall approving an insurance payment of £42.90 a month either!

Thanks for any info you may have!

George

    House Insurance? Car Insurance?
  • Life cover?

Im assuming its a d/d, if so they should be able to give you details about the originator including an address.
  • It's neither house, car or life insurance. I did have a loan with them that has been paid completely, could it be that? It is indeed direct debit.
  • I know it sounds a bit drastic especially if this is insurance but you could cancel the DD. The company or dept in LLoyds TSB that is taking this payment will be quick in writing to you about it.

Unless their contract states that this will incurr financial penalties.
  • Very true but if there is no other way to find out what this is, it might be a risk worth taking either that or continue to pay £49.50 a month for ever.

On thinking though surley the bank will have an address for whoever is taking the DD.

LTSB should have the DD Originator details on record (this applies to all mandates, not just LTSB ones), and as mclaren32 suggested, have an address, and possibly telephone number.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

It is a Personal loan taken out with LTSB!
The reference is your loan number.
