  • This will make a huge positive impact if introduced, I hope it comes about.
  • Great idea, hopefully it will include, how to understand your payslip, what a personal allowance is and how to check if your PAYE code is correct. ;)
  • We have compulsory sex education but still have the highest teenage pregnancy rate in Europe.

    As I said on Martin's facebook page when this story was posted - it would help if a lot of kids could even actually read or count in the first place!? :mad:

    You'd think I might mean junior school age.. but no. I find it most disturbing that children of even high school age can't do simple maths!

    The shop I work in, on a daily basis we get asked 'how much is this' - there is of course a price in front of all products, but they can't read two little digits. Let alone add two prices together. I feel like we should start some out of school maths lessons, but these kids just don't care. They know they can rely on their parents to dole out wads of cash (let's not go there on the how on earth do kids of non-working parents get so much cash?!), and that they're never going to find a job unless it's casual labour... :(
