RBS service charge what the hell!!!

Recently opened RBS interest paying current account. Just received a statement including advice of a "service charge " for 22/8 to 21/9 of £28. Also refers to this being based on a "Maintenance charge". Anybody know what this is? I had charges for some unpaid items at transfer, but they refunded these charges and acknowledged in writing that they weren't my fault.
