Setting changed on laptop keyboard

Hi All.

Please help. My settings have changed on my laptop, and whatever I type comes out different if i type them from my laptop keyboard.

can you tell me how to change them back to UK please.

  • If you're running a Windows OS first try checking your system tray on the bottom right and sometimes (depending on your settings) there will be a language setting control, this should be set to en-GB for the UK.

    If this is not there try going to your control panel and changing your Regional Settings to the UK. Hope this helps!

    If you're running Linux, or Mac OSx someone else may be of more assistance on here.

    It's possible that your Num Lk key has mistakenly been switched off.
    It's found at upper right of key board.

    If NumLock is on, then some of the letters to the right-hand half of the keyboard (like j, k or l) may appears as numbers.

    Coincidentally someone at work had this problem early this afternoon!

    PS It would have been helpful if the OP had given more details of what actually is happening, which keys give what...
