I don't think so. Like Mupette said, if the total household income is above certain amount, which I can't remember how much, ESA claim will be refused.

As for DLA, it depends on the severity I think.
I used to suffer from IBS type symptoms and I find stress is a definite trigger/contributor.

sh1305 is correct. CB ESA does not take into account partner's income or capital, and can be claimed indefinitely.

DLA is very difficult to claim for IBS in adults, as it does not lead to care needs from others. This is confirmed in the DMG.

I suffer IBS due to the long, anti social hours i work.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

May I just ask is your Dr sure? Have you had tests that have all come back normal?

Just asking as I was told 3 years ago I have IBS but after my health nose dived and developed joint pain (on top of ME), it turns out to be IBD (had one normal and one abnormal test- guess which was ignored!)

Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.

Have you sold your soul to the devil?
  • I was diagnosed with IBS quite a few years ago. I have since had other medical problems and have been told I have Sjogrens syndrome and hughes syndrome. One of the symptoms of these is IBS
I used to suffer from lack of motivation.... now I just can't be arsed.

I get DLA for my IBS - however, I do have other disabilities which make caring for myself a bit harder.

bigjl, you have already been advised in another thread that medical advice is not permitted on the forums, and recommending medications falls under this rule.
