Favourite Days Out?

I know it's only September but given that Martin has reminded us that it's only 100 days until Christmas and I need something to look forward to at the moment I have decided to start giving it some thought.
Last year I was very generous with my family and spent a lot of money. This year money is going to be very tight so that's not an option. I have told them all that the theme of my gifts this year is going to be "thoughtful".
Anyway, the reason that this is relevant to this board is that I'd like to get everyone an "experience" rather than a tangible gift. I'm going to go along for each "gift" - so they get the bonus of spending a day with me! I've had a few ideas already, but would love to hear what days out you've really enjoyed - preferably which didn't cost the earth either. Ideally something in either London, East Anglia or Yorkshire would be good as I won't need hotel accommodation.
My only thoughts so far are a day out in York for my grandparents as they would like to go but can't manage the journey themselves (I'll drive) with lunch, National Railway Museum (free) and general free sightseeing and wandering. I also like the look of the BBC Tour (£10/head) for someone. I have my mum, dad, brother and his girlfriend to get for.
Many thanks in advance.

How old are they all, and how much do you want to spend, what about "go ape" for your brother and his girlfriend.0

I like the idea of Go Ape - I think they'd enjoy that (both in mid 20s). Parents are both mid 50s. Ideally I'd like each 'day out' to be around the £50 mark I guess. Thanks for your reply.MSE aim: more thanks than posts :j0

Any tome spent by the seaside can be enjoyed, with fish and chip lunch that is cheap but tasty. Take a beach ball or a bathing suit and the dog if u have one for hours of fun! :j0

Hi there
Last year we went to Winterwonderland at hyde park with all the family, of all different ages, there is ice skating, the wheel, circus and a funfair, and there is all different stalls and food places along the way, it was great and something for everyone to do.
They have a website which might be worth a look.0 -

(well there are for thetford forest anyway), i did the one in thetford forest and really enjoyed it.
