I mean, this proves it doesn't it? Why doesn't he get a job?;)
Think before you generalise...obviously this guy isn't bleeding the country dry. & also in the same way, this is the amount of mobility payment he would qualify for. Not exactly millions is it?

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I would hope that there's more to it than this lj. I'm surprised that he doesn't get more than lower rate DLA because of his injuries tbh, but if that's what they've assessed, that's what they've assessed. However, more importantly, I want to ask what compensation this man is getting for what has happened to him.
This is the sort of person who should get a large compensation payout due to the exceptional circumstances under which he was injured. I don't know if the police have a scheme of that sort, if not then compensation should be in line with the armed forces. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Viva, for help with care needs he will get the high rate.
ccording to the article he is stating he feels the mobility part of his award is too low. The way the legislation is currently, he would only be entitled to the low rate. To get the high rate, you have to beincapable/virtually incapable of walking 30 yards on level ground.
Though he has a disability, he can walk. He just can't see where he is going! So he gets £18 a week to meet the cost of someone supervising him/helping him to be aware of dangers.
I will assume that he will get a significant retirement on medical grounds payment from the police scheme, though I wouldn't know the details of that. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I don't recall anyone discriminating against anyone with a legitimate disability who needed welfare to survive.
The negativity is almost exclusively aimed at those who who live on estates where 80%+ claim they're unfit to work for some very spurious reason. At least it is round my way.0 -
I do. Loads. And I've seen some really nasty stuff posted.
Perhaps your memory could do with being checked out?
Here's one:Blacklight wrote: »For reasons I wasn't entirely aware of I haven't had any contact with workshy, jobless benefit scroungers for a long time.
It didn't occur to me until just the other day that I never mix with these people. When I was younger I suppose things were a bit different and there were council homes nearby, but now I only ever really see people at work, family, friends or neighbors. None of which are scummy benefit cheats living on council estates. I usually drink in more relaxed venues where people and friendly and talk to one another rather than busy pubs or clubs anymore.
By the way, are you able to see the glaring contradictions in some of your postings?Blacklight wrote: »Unless there's something really psychologically wrong with you, you know that wishing misfortune upon others is wrong.
I'm shocked sometimes when I read some of the things that people post
compared with:Blacklight wrote: »It's been a long hard couple of years in the private sector and I'm really glad it's behind us. Looking forward to looking forward come October.
And alsoBlacklight wrote: »I find it amusing that up to a 25% cut in real terms over 4 years has become either 25% or 40% of all people in the public sector being made redundant by Christmas depending on who you talk to.
The announcement in October will be 5% and 9% cuts here and there. People will be shocked into making those large purchases before the VAT hike.
I expect a bumper December leading good growth for the end of the year.
You don't think this makes you appear a little hypocritical?:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Full salary + benefits...
Yes, he's scum.0 -
Is it wrong that i don't care a bit about this?
I don't think he's scum. I do think he's a bit whiney though.
He joined the force knowing the risks. He's presumably being paid a good salary. What's his beef?0 -
He is getting full rate care and low rate mobility.
If his spinal cord had been severed he would be receiving high rate mobility, but as it isn't, and he can still walk then the rules stipulate that he receives lower rate mobility.
He wont be doing too badly, he will get a full police pension and I would imagine a great deal of victims compensation on top.0 -

No, your quoting things totally out of context has gone way over my head. Sorry I haven't a clue what you're driving at.0 -
