W800i music problem

I recently got a Sony Ericsson W800i. I've put some CDs on it using the software that comes with the phone (Disc2Phone), but today I downloaded some tracks from Tesco, and I can't get them onto my phone. When I try to move them to the phone, it says 'no usable music tracks found'. Not sure, but I think it may be that the tracks are on Windows Media Player and aren't in MP3 format?? Could that be right? If so, can I convert them to MP3? And if not, what else can it be?
It's annoying!!

i know i had trouble with my sony phone that when i copied files over i copied them across as "/folder name/tracks.mp3"
when it needs to be stored as "/folder name(artist)/folder name (album)/"
otherwise the phone wont even reconise the tracks. as for playing wma files i very doubt it but check if not see if you can burn the tracks to cd and then re-rip back into mp3.0
