I have just put a new black and pink cartridge into the printer and have got the following message ` Incorrect Ink Cartridge(s)` the following ink cartridges cannot be used after device initialization and must be replaced`. I can`t get rid of the message and of course printer won`t work.
The 2 cartridges I put in are HP ones that come with the printer (not quite full size inks) I have been using compatable inks upto now.
Please does anyone have any ideas? or will I have to order new compatable ink?
Many thanks for any help you can offer (I need to print stuff for daughters homework!!!)

Try unplugging the printer then powering it up again, also make sure the contacts on the cartridges are clean.
Have these been lying around for sometime? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
H, thanks for the reply.
I switched off and unplugged, the cartridges were in one of those sealed blocks that holds all 6 colours. I have checked the contacts and taken the cartridges out and put them in again - am still getting the same message. I`m a bit baffled as for once these are proper ones! Wondering if I have messed the printer up as I havn`t used proper ones for ages / or maybe this packet I have contains faulty ones? Its just such a pain as its my last lot and need printer to print homework! typical its always when you need something it goes wrong...0
