Baby Clothes for Charity? (Surrey)

Options
After trying to (unseucessfully) sell off some of our daughters clothes at a boot sale and Ebay (both no joy, as people wanted to pay nothing for them), I thought I'd see if there are any charity/good causes in the Surrey area that would want a few bags full of good quality, hardly worn girls clothes aged 1-12 months?

Dont want anything for them as long as they go to a good home....

Any ideas or suggestions?

  • Hi, have you thought of donating them to your local hospital? When i had my 1st baby he was so big all the new born clothes i'd bought didn't fit him! So i had to borrow what the hospital had which wasn't alot!! I'm sure they would be very gratefull.
  • Or offer them on Freecycle or to your local women's refuge?

  • If you are in Surrey - How about finding a Shooting Star Hospice shop, I know there is one in Ashford Surrey. The Shooting Star is the only Childrens Hospice covering this area. It is based in Hampton if you want to look it it ?

    Hope this helps

Both no joy as people wanted to pay nothing for them? Surely giving them away to charity you would still not get anything for them.
Wouldn`t you of been better accepting a small price for them rather than nothing at all?

  • Hi there,

I just noticed this thread and have you ever thought of connecting to the need directly?

You can connect with charities across the globe using Global Hand "search requests". The URL is: http://www2.globalhand.org/requests/search_requests

    Or

you could find a domestic charity at: http://www2.globalhand.org/information/resources?searchmode=1&Subject=127&getGHLOffices=&SearchableText=&searchterm=

    hope this helps
