Broken Wii

On Sunday our wii stopped working. A black screen appeared and said disk problem, eject disk, turn off, then restart. My DH did this several times and still no joy. Searched internet and tried suggests off cleaning out due to dust, keeping turned off overnight etc but still no luck.
Has anyone else had this and managed to get it sorted? Looked to get it repaired but can't find anyone local and those to send it off cost about £50+ and only with a month guarntee if do fix it.

Any advice would be appreciated as have 6 year old (and DH) driving me mad about buying a new one!!!:eek:
