  • If you sent them a letter cancelling your direct debit and they didn't act on it then you are entitled to a refund under the terms of the Direct Debit Guarantee. You just need to contact your bank who will arrange the for you. This doesn't change the terms of your contract however they are not within the rules to take any direct debits after you have asked them to cancel it.
