Tortoiseshell Cats - Stress/ Tortitude?!! HELP!

Hi all,
I recently posted about my cat having very bad toilet habits in which she would run in a blind panic and poop around the house which was unfortunately bad diarhea.
After 3 weeks of having to deal with this the vet has prescribed antibiotics, a strong wormer and steroids all of which has not helped. Her diet is JWB which the vet has said is good and doesn't need looking at. She has also had blood tests which showed nothing.
I knew tortoiseshell cats are branded as "naughtie torties" but he mentioned the word "tortitude" as they can apparently get incredibly stressed. Does a colour of a cat have anything to do with whether they get more or stressed tan other colours of cat?!!
Anyway, we do have a new addition a kitten who was here for a few weeks before she started having these fits. She is still just as happy in herself, eating well, is always around either me or my partner, plays with the kitten but is also quite independant - does this sound like a stressed cat?! The kitten doesn't really bother her as she herself is quite an independant kitten and spends most of her time by herself playing or asleep.
Basically after all of my rambling (for which I apologise!) has anyone got a tortoiseshell cat with "tortitude" or does anyone know how to deal with a cat branded with stress? Any thoughts on what I could do would be much appreciated!
