Windows Updates Problem

I run Win XP (SP3) on my laptop. Yesterday I got the usual "Updates available" notification icon. Using Update it showed 13 High Priority updates. I started to install but about 20 second in realised I would have to go out well before it finished, so I cancelled the update. Turned on laptop today and the updates notification icon has gone and when I go into Update it says no updates available and in Update History says it installed the updates - it clearly didn't. How do I get the updates? Thanks!

manually check for updates...open IE, go to tools select windows update, and search for custom.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

Tried that - says no High Priority Updates available.0

use system restore to roll back to before the updates.....
if they were already downloaded and available windows will install them as it shuts down so that may be what happenedEx forum ambassador

Tried doing a System Restore several times (going further back each time) but all of them failed to restore. Do I just keep going further back until it works?0

Go direct to windows update (Start and windows update)
Goto CUSTOM
Then youll see exactly what you can and cant update to:idea:0 -
Did a re-start in Safe Mode and re-did a System Restore to an earlier date. Thankfully this time restore worked and have re-installed the Updates. Cheers for the replies.0
