Return of goods question

My mam and dad bought a dining table and chairs from a well known furniture store around Jan 2009, There items were taking forever to be delivered from the manufacturer so the store gave them the display set until there new goods were ready for delivery.
The new table and chairs were delivered approx july 2009. The display items were not down to be collected when the new set were delivered so they left them, they still have not come to get them after several calls to the company asking when collection would happen.
The set is taking up a lot of space in their garage and they are getting very fed up.
What can they do, can they sell the table and chairs, the company obviously doesn't want them back. and can they charge the company for storage as i see from their own website that they will only store products for delivery for 4 weeks at £25 pr week, i think its only fair my mam and dad charge the same.
What do you think, i know they want this resolved.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not so sure about selling them as they arent unsolicited goods, but as for charging them............i believe you cannot implement contract conditions afterwards. It would have had to be agreed before.
You could certainly send them a bill for it, but i dont think you'd have any hope of enforcing it or receiving payment. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Do you have dates/proof you called them? Send them a letter now by recorded delivery telling them to collect or you will dispose.0
