advent computer training expirey date!

I, like many people had purchased training from Advent Training before it went bust and handed over nearly £5K. I didn't start the course straight away due to some personal issues. My parents gave the sales man that i bought the course off a call and asked if i could pick up the course and he assured them that i would be fine and be able to continue with the course. After i heard that Advent had gone bust earlier this year I, again, like many tried to find out what to do and was told to wait. wait. and wait again. Eventually I heard from the new company computeach and they are now telling me that there was an expirey date on my contract with Advent, they say:
"Computeach have only been appointed as the alternative training provider for students funded by Barclays Partner Finance and with contract end dates greater than 17/02/2010.
Details provided to us show that your contract with Advent elapsed on 09/02/2009, Therefore your file has not been transferred to us."
"It should be noted that some Advent students have been led to believe that there is no contract end date for Advent training courses."
Does anybody know if i have a leg to stand on with this? Does anyone know about the Advent Training situation?
Thanks guys for your time.....

you might have more luck on one of the other forums here around consumer issues..... not sure there is a 'technical' fix for your particular problem

How was it paid for or is it still being paid if there was an finance agreement?0

Jasx I looked at all the other forum titles but this didn't seem to go in to any of them.
I paid via Barclays loan which I actually managed to pay off and didn't have to pay any interest.
They since wrote me to say I could try and reclaim the fees but if there was an expiry date would I be able to?0 -

Here's a list of some of the other threads concerning Advent/Barclays on MSE........

Post on the latest one which I think is on the Loans board and have a read of the rest.
Certainly no harm in trying to claim back some of your fees, how much of the course did you complete if any?
Where you made aware there was an expiry date when you started/paid for the course?0 -
