hi everyone, havent been a situation like this before so excuse me if it's obvious i don't have cause to complain but i'm so annoyed i thought i'd ask the advice of the good people of MSE forums.
last october - for my birthday - i was lucky to get a pair of those shape up shoes, my DH paid £169 for them from a specialist running shoe shop in glasgow. last month i picked them up to put them on and it looked like i had black tape stuck to them. on closer inspection it was the side of the soles that had come away and the foam inside was visible. My DH has taken the back to the shop who in turn sent them back to the company's head office in london. They say the shoes show signs of "wear and tear" and only offer a 6 month guarantee on their shoes. they have offered me 15% off a new pair!
I have to say i'm really disappointed but i dont know where to go from here? should i go back to the company and tell them it's not acceptable? £169 is a hell of a lot of money for a pair of shoes that dont last a full year. I would wear the shoes most days, except for the days where it was too warm (a few in scotland surprisingly) i dont walk miles and miles in them - i take my child to school in back and maybe walk round the supermarket but i'm certainly not hiking or walking marathons.
any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
