how to pay by paypal

hi

i really want to pay for an item throuh paypal via my credit card, my credit card is registered with ebay but when i go to complete checkout and click on the other options instead of my balance (which is there to pay my sellers fees so i dont want to spend it) it only gives me the balance option or my bank account option.

where am i going wrong ???

is this because i have a balance that it wont let me use my credit card?

  • Yes :)

It will default to spending your balance.

Why not pay it to a friend, temporarily, and then ask them to refund the payment after you have paid for your item.

However, if either you or your friend have a premier account the receiver will pay a fee when your money is transferred back in. You will be Ok though if you have a basic account.

  • Shouldn't matter if the payment is refunded correctly.

  • I must admit to doing this quite often. I will pay a friend my whole paypal balance and then make a purchase using my credit card as the funding option. I then get my friend to refund me when the transaction is complete. I only do this for more expensive items.
