IKEA- wrong part sent, advice please!

Evening all

About a fortnight ago I bought a bed from IKEA. When I got home and unpacked it, you guessed it, there was a part that was broken (footboard).

I rang IKEA head office and they offered to send a replacement part out by post, they estimated 3-5 working days but it arrived today on the 6th working day. And it was the wrong part- they sent the headboard!

I am concerned that if I ask them to resend it they'll just send the wrong part out again. Short of going there myself with the offending part and getting them to swap it in front of me, what would you do?

Probably not a bad idea if you are not too far from the store. At least that way you know its the right thing and you can check it for damage while you are still there.

I'd be lugging it on the train and the tram, wonder if they'd refund my ticket?!

I would phone them up, explain your predicament and ask them to sort it out asap.
