Car Insurance gone up

Hi, I'm due for a renewal for my car insurance next month.
For the past few years Ive always got a better deal by searching the comparison sites.
However this year it has increased by £30-£40. If anything I would have expected a greater discount as I have now got a clean licence.
To be fair I dont pay alot anyway(£189 last year/£236 for the quote this year) but just wondering if anyone could shed any light to why it has gone up.

In short, insurers' costs have rocketed (due to claims etc) and so everyone's policy costs are increasing.
But I'd recommend reading this part of the forum a little deeper as this question has been answered in depth, repeatedly several times in the last few months.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
