  • That's horrendous, so glad that you have got it sorted:)
  • Glad that you don't owe the money - I'd be going to the council and demanding it back there and then - march them to a bank and see how they like it!

I'd be making a formal complaint about the bailiffs to their company, the council and the police! They are only allowed to enter your house if YOU INVITE them in and I thought they could only seize goods (in this case the threat about your car) if they had a court order to do so?? I could be wrong, but that's what I thought.

Compensation for the threatening behaviour sounds good too - especially as you don't feel safe to stay in your own home!

I would definitely not be dropping this even when you get your money back! A holiday is a must for you now!!

Sheesh! What a nasty not-so-little men!

If I were you I'd write a letter of complaint to the council about the behaviour of their baliffs, and also write to your local councillor giving full details of the bullying bahaviour and extortion racket they out you through. Because marching you to a cashpoint, forcing you to show them your back balance and then had over a large amount of cash is nothing short of extortion, and NOT what you expect of council appointed employees...

    *hugs*
