will i be accepted?

Hi,, just wondering if anyone who knows the ins and outs of credit cards might shed a little light for me..

Basicly, the MD of my company is changing his company car and has said if anyone wants to buy his old 1 they could have it cheap..
should be worth around 10k but he offerd it for £5500 so i jumped at the chance!

Now the problem is,, to scrape the cash together .. ive tried to get a natwest platinum card thats offering 15 months of 0% on balance transfers.. so i shall buy it with my existing lloyds CC (£3500 of it anyway,,, i have 2k saved to pay the rest) then transfer the balance from my lloyds card to the natwwest 1..

The problem is that when i applied for the card online today.. it all seemed to be going well... they were "pleased to offer me 4k credit limit" on the card but then at the last page it said sumthing about some info not being right and they would contact me within 9 days with an answer as to being succesful..

So is this common? afaik i have no credit problems... should all be good.. no CCJ or missed payments.. im a homeowner.. so what might have gone wrong? and is it likely to turn out ok in the end?

Main thing is im desperate for an answer as there are a couple others intrested in the car and im sure if i dont grab it within a day or 2 someone else will :0(

So anyone in the know have any ides if i will get accepted or no??
