since i got my vanquis card i have been bombarded with emails, offering me credit cards from the likes of tesco and halifax.
if i actually applied for any of these i know for a fact i would be declined so im wondering why im actually getting these now
any ideas?

i dont see the point when ive got a rubbish credit rating and wouldnt get these cards anyway

Did you apply for the card directly with Vanquis? Or perhaps you went through a comparison site?

no just directly with vanquis. havent applied for anything else at all cos i knew i wouldnt be accepted

Mailing lists only require a very small % of applicants to succeed to make it profitable.

It definitely happens. A lady I used to work with filled out an application form with a company similar to Vanquis and made a slight spelling error in one of the address lines (I think she had the wrong glasses on or something). About three months later, she started getting junk mail from various sources, all with the same slight error in the address as the one she'd made on her application form... hmmm...

Not a nice way to go about one's business but, as jonesMUFCforever says, it does happen.
