laptop problem out of warranty

Hello all

My laptop has stopped working and a friend diagnosed it as 'vista screen of death'. Whatever, it wont work.

I bought it 24th august last year from argos.

Does anyone have advice on how to proceed? Are argos likely to be sympathetic? Should I write/ring them? Or just find a local repair person

Sounds like you need to find a friend that knows what they are talking about. I can only assume they work for PC World.

Can you describe the problem in more depth. The chances are that you could resolve the problem yourself, even if it meant that Vista was reinstalled.

Quite possibly. Some keys stopped working consistently a few months ago and then a few days ago it wouldn't turn on properly- kept running a dos screen with options for removing problems. But whatever option i tried it kept returning to that screen.
and now I think it's just a black lit screen though I havent tried it for a few days- its with said friend
