Making an offer on a new house ...

Options
If a new house has been on the market quite some time and is now advertised at "offers in the region of £275k" - what do you think the builders would realistically accept ??

£250,000. You'll have to push hard, but if you're in the position to move quickly and they're a recognised name, you might just do it.

We managed to negotiate one from £299,950 down to £250,000 but by the time they gave in, we'd found somewhere else.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
  • It all depends how long it has been up for sale and if they are still developing.
We have some 4 bedrooms houses down the road from here and they have been advertised since January, only finished building them in August, but only sold 3 out of the 11 houses.
They have dropped their price by £10k,most of them were up for between £420k and £430k and agreed to pay stamp duty.I reckon if we wait long enough they'll come down by another £20k as they have no garage and small gardens!!!
It's worth offering or doing a deal with the stamp duty and fix/fittings,or asking them to pay the stamp duty?
If you're all ready to go adn they need to make their deadline for getting their money back then they may come down that far.
