faulty Printer within warranty - help

We purchased an Epson printer from Comet in November 2009 so its still within the years warranty. We took it back to Comet, who returned it to Epson to repair. It came back with exactly the same problem! So took it back again, a week later its back and STILL has the same problem! The manager in Comet basically says its not his problem, nothing they can do - it has to go through Epson. Epson are saying they will now replace it BUT only with a reconditioned model and the warranty will still be from the date of the original purchase NOT for another year from the date of the reconditioned one!! Im not happy as you can imagine! I want to find out my rights before I go back and demand a refund - can anyone help?!!

Why are you not happy with Epson's solution?

You have a ten month old printer that doesn't work.

Epson have offered to change that broken one for one that works but it may not be new.

Do you think you are entitled to a new one?
It could be argued that you are entitled to a replacement printer that is ten months old.
Reconditioned items are often brand new anyway.

Why should you get another years warranty?

If you force a refund, bear in mind that that refund can be reduced by an amount proportional to the time you have enjoyed the product.
