N power or Atlantic
thanks to those who gave me advice yesterday about switching for the first time. I want to change gas & electric and pay the least possible. I've checked all the online caluculators and they all give n power & atalantic as the best prices (only a few quid difference between the two.
Which is the best to go for, I see Martin says npower's prices will rise 1 oct but it was announced in sept so would i be better to go for these?
Also how can the sites be so different? I always get the same top 2 but savings vary from £187 to £326

Between the two options I would say Atlantic, been with them for some time, no propbs, more than I can say for n.power, the prices are as competitive as you are likely to get0

My money's on Atlantic: very friendly, quick changeover, have saved a fortune so far. Had terrible experience with Npower at university; just wouldn't leave me alone!0

Atlantic (SSE) have put their prices up , to come in Jan 07, so watch for that, I have just stopped a switch to Atlantic until things settle down.0

Why? at least you know exactly what you would be paying until the end of the year (next quarter) and their increases have now been announced. There will always be increases with one company cheaper but if you never switch, you won't benefit.
:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
And their percentage increase does not seem as steep as others have been this year so i am probably going to stay with Atlantic. What is the betting we will see another round of increases kick in after xmas,so that when all the companies have to hopefully!! start reducing prices next year, they will make it look like they are doing us all a huge favour.............0

thanks everyone. I was leaning towards Atlantic. If the price rise has already been announced does that mean the figures i got on the comparison site would take that into account?0

Very unlikely as it was only announced today. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
