we got a chrysler voyager 2002 model insurance renewal was £380 fully comp ....hubby just got a vauxhall frontera 1995 model and the insurance was £500 + fully comp absolutly mad... cant understand why an old banger costs so much more than our chrysler ? to insure.

presumably being female makes a difference, what about no claims bonuses etc?
Newer cars are harder to break into as well, have newer parts,and less likely (in theory) to go wrong
also the desirability to any thief
