I have a netgear DG834GT router with 3 pc's connected using ethernet and one free socket. Wirelessly we have one laptop and various consoles using the internet too.
Problem is that grown up daughter now wants to use internet in the summerhouse (her chillout zone) and the wireless won't reach that far.
Hardwiring is not possible as the cable would have to run either through various rooms or outside over the house roof.
A while ago I did buy a Belkin "N" router that supposedly would reach that far, but no-one (including belkin customer support, my isp, and myself spending hours trawling the internet) could get the games consoles to connect through it, so I had to return it and go back to the Netgear.
I have been looking at the plug socket style items that use the house wiring (we have sockets in the summerhouse) but I'm not a techie and really have no idea which (if any) would be suitable for the job.
Would greatly appreciate some advice.

Games console probably doesn't support it.0

See the diagrams on the Broadband Buyer site. You'd need two homeplugs, one connected to the router, and one in the summerhouse. The one in the summerhouse could be a Wireless Access Point if she wanted to be wireless.
The three speeds are 14 Mbps, 85 Mbps and 200 Mbps, all of which could have the figures divided by about 3 for actual throughput. You'd want two of the same speed - you choose! Example of what I've got...
The only thing you'd need to be certain of was that the electrical wiring in the house and in the summerhouse both link to the same consumer unit, otherwise there won't be an electrical path for the 'ethernet' signals to go down.0
