The Nano can play MP3 encoded files but cannot play music encoded using Windows Media (usually .wma) files, irrespective of whether these files have digital rights managament (DRM) set.
The iTunes application can import existing music into the Library to sync with the Nano as well as download from the iTunes Store.0 -
so does that mean that any muscic i have on my computer i just import into itunes is it that simple0

If you have digital rights enabled on the music that you import, itunes will not be able to convert them into mp3s.
If digital rights are not enabled, you just point itunes at them, they will be converted no problem.
You can find out if they are protected by going into your music folder (normally My Music) and right mouse button one of the music files, go to properties, you should then get a window with 3 tabs at the top, click the license tab. If it says protected content, then you are unable to play your music on an apple device, otherwise you can convert.
You can download itunes for free http://www.apple.com/itunes/ to try it out
If all your music are mp3s anyway then you are laughing.0 -
I did the above put only 2 tabs appear and none of them are called License !
Can anyone tell me what this means ?

That should mean that your songs aren't protected, so you should be able to transfer and/or convert them.Dave. :wave:0 -
well I am trying but I am obviously doing something wrong. Should I be able to convert from wma rto MP3 using the itunes package because I dont seem to be able too !"The time is always right to do what is right"0

I don't think that WMA is a file type that ITunes supports, so I doubt you'll be able to convert it in there.
You can try Audacity or dbpoweramp.Dave. :wave:0 -

Itunes does convert WMA to MP3, so long as the WMA is not a protected file (ie paid for download)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I just presumed it didn't.
Would you mind telling Jujitsu how to do it as I'm not an ITunes user.
Edit - Found one way, but don't know if it's the quickest.
Go to File, then Import and choose your wma file. Itunes should automatically convert it, as long, as is mentioned above, it's not a protected file.Dave. :wave:0
