Tax credit exemption card

When do you get this? even though I claim tax credits I haven't had a card since 2009 this has expired. I am worried now as I am going for NHS dental treatment in 2 weeks and of course won't have a card to produce :(

Not everyone on tax credits gets a card, if you're entitled to it it would have come through the post in June.
  • We do meet the criteria to have an exemption card :-s

Ah, in that case I'd phone them and ask where it is! There might be a box unchecked on a computer somewhere. When I lost my card I just called the regular tax credits number to get a new one.
  • Actually just thinking about it I may not if the 15,200 is a combined household income :-o

£15,200 is the amount both people on the claim can earn jointly.

oh dear! Time to send off the HC1 form?
  • I know nothing about these cards however I know a little about sedation...

Did your dentist not refer you to a hospital for sedation as usually the average dentist would not have the recovery facilities etc to do this?

I only ask because I had sedation on 3rd September and I was referred to my local oral surgery dept, therefore being treated as a hospital outpatient rather than a dental patient which meant I didn't have to pay the dentist treatment charge.

This time was just oral sedation but I had proper sedation a few years ago when I was referred to a specific dental hospital and again didn't have to pay.

I know this doesn't answer you original question but thought if you were similar to me it may alleviate the underlying problem.

HTH and hope your treatment goes well
A big thank you to all comping posters!! :T
