Virgin Media service call - hopeless - anyone else had same experience

My Virgin tv service has been down twice in the last two weeks in my area. When it went down again at the weekend, I assumed it was same thing. However after an evening without tv I phoned Call Centre and was told there was no problem locally. After saying I had installed new smartcard and carried out all necessary checks, I was told call would be escalated and I would get a call back. None came.
So the next day, Monday, I went on line and registered a fault with their online Help and Support Forum. Went through usual chat about checks and I was then notified via forum by Claire D, that a service call had been booked for today wednesday.
Today comes and no sign of engineer ("tech"). So phoned Call Centre this afternoon and was told no tech had booked. They knew nothing about an online Virgin Help and Support forum for reporting faults and booking calls but they were clear no tech had been booked.
Then got shunted around through three separate operators, before being told case had been flagged as resolved and closed!
Had a serious sense of humour failure. Another call booked for tomorrow but am not crossing my fingers. Anyone else had similar problems?

I've had no experience like that with virgin, mines all good so far. Last V box broke no TV for a week, full refund of that week, new v box for free no problems. Most recent one was remote control which they replaced straight away, no problems.0
