Hull or OU?
Options

I have just completed the second year of my degree at Hull University and have just received the marks for my reassessments. I achieved a 61% average. I was considering transferring my credits to the Open University, but now my mitigating circumstances have been considered and accepted, I wonder whether this changes the situation.
The OU only count modules taken with them towards the final degree classification; all the others are treated as qualifying modules. I now need to decide between the Hull and OU options for my final year. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Check on how they work out your degree classification at Hull. You might find that they also base it on the final year.
Where I work they use two methods of working out the final classification and they use the one that is most advantageous to the student.
One method uses 25% of the second year marks and 75% of the final year marks and the other method is based entirely on the final year marks. By far the majority of students' (95%+) final classification is based on their final year marks.
Hope this helps and good luck whatever you decide.0 -
I have just finished my degree at Hull and it was 50% for 2nd year and 50% for 3 years marks.0

Would you prefer to study part time or finish in a year? If you prefer part time, how easily would you find a job?0

Thanks for this. I will be meeting with my personal supervisor next week to discuss the options. The weightings are 40/60 to years 2 and 3, so the final year is weighted slightly more highly. I will be able to (and have privisonally registered for 120 credits, so that I can finish the degree within one academic year, irrespective of the route that I eventually choose.
