Comparing Energy Prices/Tariffs

I am about to buy my first property and would like to compare tariffs of Energy and gas suppliers to get a good idea of who to go with. When I go go onto compare websites (i.e. compare the market, confused.com etc) they all ask to put your current supplier details in. I dont have a current supplier and there is no option to select that. Does anyone know where and how I can compare energy supplier?

Thank you.

Put in any supplier you like , eg British Gas, EDF, the point is to find the cheapest option, which it will then do.
