Finally moved yesterday and after the removals co left I found they had scratched wardrobes doors, which they had stacked so it couldn't be seen!!!
Very annoyed.
I paid for removals by credit card, do you think I have any protection with that.
The company aren't being very responsive (surprise surprise) what should I do next?

who did you insure the removals with? Usually you are offered the removal peoples insurance, from memory the premium is about a tenth of the removal costs. Some removal firms automatically include insurance. You can decline their insurance and check that your home contents insurance will cover it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. When they left you did you sign anything? I ask because it might have been the bit of paper that says "no damage was done to my stuff - i'm completely happy", in which case you may struggle to get anything out of them.
As above, did you use separate insurance?Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery0 -
Hi,all of the removals companies I spoke to said they don't offer insurance anymore because of FSA regs. So I am insured under my house insurance.
I haven't signed anything from the company.
If the FSA thing is correct then I don't see why any removals company should be that careful as basically every householder would go through there own insurer and its not hassle for the removals company if they smash everything.
As people don't move that often its hard to find recommendations or any kind of rating system for them.
The company I used is registered with both trade bodies.0 -
We make sure we pay for their insurance. We had a table scratched and they eventually got a French polisher to deal with it free of charge. These were a small outfit too.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T
