Hi,
Yesterday I signed up to the Jobsite website to frind recruitment, then out of the blue I receive an email from a company saying:
"
I've seen your CV on Jobsite and have a couple of jobs that potentially look suitable for you, however I could do with a bit more information.
Please click here to enter some more details and help me find you the ideal job.
I look forward to getting the information asap.
Thanks
Sophie"
Now I am new to this, and a couple of guys in the office have received this and have been infomred that it is a Scam (Identitiy theft)!! But the website looks ok, but when we phoned 'Sophie' she was out on a business conference.
Is this kind of 'cold emailing' common?
has anyone received this mail and what was the outcome?
Looking forward to hearing your advise and experiences, 6 weeks to leave date, the job hunt continues.
Good luck fellow job hunters:)

Identity theft??
Really??
I registered on their site. Thought the email was legit.0 -
Crumbs !!
I completed a registration form for 'jobsite.co.uk' only this afternoon. This evening I received an email with exactly the same wording sent by Sophie. I did reply adding to my jobsite entry the names of two referees. It seems that either 'jobsite' is forwarding our info. or somehow Evolution is intercepting our stuff. The thought of identity theft is a worry. How should one respond ?0 -
A good way to know if it is a scam/spam that has somehow got into your normal mail is to check the email address did it come from name@evolution.co.uk/com or from a webmail address if the latter then very, very likely dodgy as h*ll."It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." :T0

Yes, I get them from Evolution. Ignore.
Can't get your link to work but if it's the one I'm thinking of it's not identity theft but it's for sales leads. I work in IT, and have had them from Evolution in the past (and other companies, but Evolution have sent me a few). They send these to ask who you have worked for in the past, under the guise of getting a reference. So they can then ring up your ex boss and ask if they are recruiting.
And can't remember if it's Evolution or another one that asks who you are interviewing with, supposedly so they don't send your CV there when you have already applied... but it's so they can send their candidates.0 -
Hi Fellas! Beware of the cyber scammers! They are out to scam people for their evil purposes. A legit employers will write straight forward letter asking for additional skills you have, they will even arrange an interview sked for you, or will ask you like "How much is your expected salary?" "Are you available to work as soon as possible just in case we hire you?" something like that since they find your CV very interesting. They need workers and they won't write you nonsense letter offering you junkies.0

Hi everyone,
I've just come across the email myself but I didn't find this discussion thread until after I responded to the email and sent my CV to Evolution. Have I made a big mistake and if so, what do I need to do next?0 -

well what information was on the cv0 -
My CV had my first name, surname, email address, home phone number and mobile number. I did not have my full address. Just the city and district that I live in. I also did not have my date of birth, NI number of any other sort of personal information.0
