Liverpool cheap eats!

Hi, I'm hoping members might be able to give me some suggestion son where to eat in Liverpool this weekend?

I work for a charity and we're doing a fringe debate this weekend at the Liberal conference (as you can imagine, I'm thrilled about spending my weekend at a political conference!) and work cover us for meals whilst we're working away.

However, in true MSE style, I want a good meal without costing my work a fortune!

I've never been to Liverpool and am staying near Lime street so any suggestions- especially for Sunday night- would be much appreciated! Ideally, I'd like to stay away from the chains although will use a voucher if it's the best option.

Thanks in advance,

Kaz

Try The Everyman bistro on Hope Street for times other than Sunday. A short walk from Lime Street.

For Indian try Maharaja on London Road (South Indian mainly vegetarian).

    Or any of above.

If you want good cheap eats buffet style you can't beat the Buffet Star on Hanover Street, a very short walk from Lime Street. They do all-you-can-eat buffets and are far superior to any similar all-you-can-eat. They do Chinese and Thai and Saturday night prices are under a tenner per person.

You get such dishes as king prawn, crispy duck and pancakes, curries, etc., with a choice of 2 soups for starters along with salads, samosas, spring rolls.

And desserts are fruits, ice cream, lychees etc., and the drinks prices are reasonable too. We usually just have mineral water with meals there as we drive there, you get a well chilled 1 litre bottle of still or sparkling for £2.50.

It's always busy and excellent value in my opinion.
  • If you like Asian food you could try Mayur on Duke Street. They have a special offer on through toptable.com where you get 3 courses and a glass of wine for £14.95.

Otherwise if you need some more ideas have a browse through some of toptable's restaurants, all the restaurants have ratings and reviews.
