When best to transfer balance/time limit

Due to make a payment by direct debit on the card I want to transfer the balance from on 18th, statement on 20th.
Is it better to wait until after these dates to initiate the transfer process, which I am told takes 3-5 days? Then I'll know exactly what to transfer.
Also, can seem to find if there is a time limit to transfer balances? I'm imagining it must be at least 28 days, but am considering transferring another balance as well, so can anyone point me in the right direction? I should have asked when I rang to activate the card really.
It's Barclaycard by the way.

I am bit confused by the question so will answer what I think you mean.
I assume you want to do a balance transfer from a card which a direct debit is going to pay part of on the 18th?
If so I would transfer the balance of the card right now less the amount of the direct debit.
It might make it before the statement, but if not its not a huge problem.
It will leave some interest behind but just pay this when it happens.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

OK, yes, thanks that's what I thought. I'm not sure how much it will be though, as I only pay the minimum amount at the moment.0
