Sony Vaio & Integrated Mouse issue

Hello
I'm really hoping someone will be able to help me. I have recently got a new Sony Vaio laptop and for the first week I have been using it, it has worked fine. However, today when I was using it, the integrated mouse/touchpad mouse has been behaving oddly and I cannot get my laptop to function properly because of this.
I have it set on 'right-handed' mouse, a.k.a. the usual mouse settings, and I have triple-checked that this is the case. Nonetheless, whenever I use the left click button it performs the usual right click function (e.g. bringing up the small menu of cut, copy, paste etc., and if on the desktop the whole personalisation garb). This would be fine if the right-click was doing the opposite, but it does not, it is performing the same function.
Basically, I cannot seem to have the usual left-click function whatsoever, which is making it impossible to select things, type an address in the address bar, etc.
Please help me!

Never put tables and chairs in the same room.

If you are still within your warranty I would suggest you contact Sony Support
It may be a simple fault to rectify such as reinstalling the driver or could be a hardware fault. Best to go direct to Sony and give them the problem to solve.0
