Removing late payment from credit score?

il try and keep it short.

I have a silly little argos store card which works well with its interest free periods.

I stupidly set up the DD and there was a cross over where by I missed the £2 payment by 3 days. I called argos immediatley they refunded they late payment charge and said it "shouldnt" effect your credit score.

It did.

I had an immaculate credit score, 999. Now its 760

I am in the process of selling my house, have spent close to £1k on solicitors, home reports and estate agents.

Now im worried that I will get knocked back for the mortgage I was agreed before all this happened.

I called crdit expert anfd they said argos can log on to thier system and take the mark off. I called argos and they said to send them a letter, which i did, which they lost, sent another, which they took a month to reply to. The reply was " computer says no".

Im at such a loss, what do i do???

Thanks.

Don't waste your money on so called credit scores.
    They are basically meaningless.
If you really want a 999 one, have one on me.
For an extra £1 I will make it 1000 for you.

Time will sort your credit history out.
After all you were late so your credit history is actually correct.
Just make sure you pay on time for a few months.
If you already have an offer of a mortgage, you will probably be OK because the credit searches have been done.
