Okay. I'll rephrase it. there is no such thing as bad music. There is music you understand and music you don't understand.
    Ian.

However, there is most certainly good music and there is definitely cr*p music; intelligence, understanding and discernment will help to determine which is which.

That goes for most of the other things in life too :p

you missed my point, moron. I'm saying every single they put out sounds exactly the same. Stadium Arcadium showed the usual lack of quality control by the RHCP.
ALL OF THEIR SONGS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME, are you deaf?
I like GnR though, not the new album, of course

What a foul creature you are, rhoeds121. I've had a look at your recent posts and have come to the obvious conclusion that you are a pointless human being. Tell me, have you ever brought pleasure to anybody in your life?

    How?
If you like something it is good. What is crap to you might sound amazing to me. Not liking something doesn't mean it is crap. Personally I love 70's punk and my favourite are probably the UK Subs, they've been playing for 30 years and put on a very entertaining live show. But I also love Andrea Bocelli, I like the Dixie Chicks and I regularly listen to Buddy Holly, Nanci Griffith, Frank Sinatra etc. However I find bands like the Scissor Sisters unlistenable and as for Coldplay, well, I would rather listen to Henry Hall playing the Teddy Bears Picnic anyday. Someone else mentioned the RHCP but I find their music too fragmented and not easy to listen to. Guns and Roses, yeah great in the 80's but time has moved on and they sound very dated to me. Both these bands however make great music (Flea is a very skilled Bass player), it just isn't my taste and I wouldn't call it crap just because I don't like it.
    Ian.
p.s. before anybody comments, I am aware that Henry Hall didn't PLAY the Teddy bears picnic. His band played it and he was the bandleader.

Completely agree but ........... Lily Allen & music!!!! ............. Come on, it is an artform we are talking about and not complete carbage.

There is good and bad music as you said earlier but for goodness sake hers has nothing to do with music or any form of art whatsoever. You can call it swearing, shouting, bad taste, profanity, stupidity or insult but definitely not music especially if you listen to the likes of Andrea Bocelli and can appreiciate the spirit-lifting properties of the beautiful art of music.:T
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Because sometimes it is an important duty to offer some guidance to those who have lost their way in this life.:A

If you like lily allen then have a listen to Nellie McKay, been around for around 3 years now. Great lyrics, sometimes amusing, sometimes barbed. Well worth the listen though.

Back to the original point of the thread. good spot if you want the cd
