So hows the start with yours going?!

So far so good here. My 11 year old is highly motivated and organised in the mornings which looking at the state of his bedroom is quite surprising. We have a rule in this house - I set out their uniforms the night before and I deal with any admin - signing of forms, money etc. That is all ready the night before. I've told them that I don't do requests in the morning.
Eldest leaves the house at 8.10 even though school doesn't start until 8.45 and is a 5 minute walk away. He meets his friend on the way. There is a bit of nonsense of him texting this friend each morning to make the arrangements but I've told him to either make a standing arrangement of meeting at the same time and same place daily or forget about it.
The 7 year old now she is a different matter. I have to physically stand and say "put on your shoes", "lift your schoolbag" etc.0 -
With three to get organised in a morning its always slightly hecktic, but this term seems to be a struddle
My year 8 lad, and year 5 lad are both finding it difficult to get back into the routine, my eldest one especially (Hormones kicking in I think!) as he is not sleeping well and feels very tired in the morning, I think he settled in much better last year when it was all new in year 7.
My youngest has just started reception, so I think having to get out earlier is having an impact too (Last year I could just drop junior lad off near school, and zip off to the shops!):rotfl:0 -
My oldest leaves the house just after 8am - just as my first mindees are arriving! I then have ½ hour to sort the other son out, whilst another 2 or 4 children arrive (depending on the day). It is then military precision as I get the 4 (or 6) mindees into the car (son has to walk to school as no space in the car) and drive to school, before I then go off to my other job. It's no wonder I am exhausted at the end of the day.0

my DS gets his books and bag and uniform ready the night before
homework is done as soon as he comes home and any admin, forms etc done then
so all he does is breakfast, shower, hairdryer, and out by 8.05If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

So far so good here. My DD has really surprised me - she is so motivated! Total change to being at Primary! We get everything ready the night before, so not faffing around in the morning. She comes home - does her homework straight away and then the rest of the evening is hers.0

Doing a lot better than expected here too my DS gets up with me and the lo's at 7am and is running out of the door at 7.40am for a bus that comes to the end of our street 12 houses away at 8.05am hes trying to leave earlier each day lol i know hes eager but he cant make the bus arrive earlier
Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

Had plenty of practice, so 11yo who has started secondary school in the last couple of weeks has slotted in to the routine quite easily.0

Quite relaxed and not at all chaotic.
Boys have to pack bags and sort uniform out the night before.
Everyone gets up around 7am. Boys sort their own breakfast and I make Charlotte's as she's only 3. They all go and eat at the dining room table while I make the boys packed lunches.
Boys go and get dressed and I have breakfast while Charlotte finishes hers off (she's a slow eater!). Boys leave at 7.45am.
Charlotte plays or watches iPlayer while I sort out my paperwork and stuff for work and have a quick surf on the net. We go and get dressed about 8.15am.
Around 8.45am my Mam calls in to collect Charlotte and I go to work. Here I go again on my own....0 -
It's after school that worries me, i work until 5, 2 days a week, my 11 year old gets home at 3 and it seems like a long time for her to be by herself when she has never been alone in the house before.0
